Youth Group

GLO Youth Group

GLO Youth Group is a youth outreach group for LGBTQIA+ people ages 12-17. The group meets each Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-8 pm at The GLO Center. Dinner and meeting are generally held around 5:30pm-6pm. There are additional activities and discussion opportunities held on a monthly basis.

This group is facilitated by volunteers.

8-Week Therapeutic Support Group

The GLO Center is partnering with Beyond Healing to offer a new therapeutic support group for LGBTQIA+ teens ages 14-18. Join us every Friday from 6-7 PM, starting September 27th through November 15th.

This support group will provide a safe, open space for adolescents to explore their identities, find community, and develop healthy coping skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. Our goal is to empower young people to navigate the complexities of their developing identities and foster a sense of belonging and resilience.

SNAP & Medicaid Assistance

What:Tonya Claiborne, a community volunteer and activist, will be in the center every Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Tonya comes with years of previous experience in community support and client care to assist individuals wanting mutual support with navigating the applications for SNAP and MoHealthNet (Medicaid). 
When: Every Friday starting September 11 @ 10AM – 4PM

Banned Book Club

What: For September, we will be discussing “The Satanic Verses” by Salman Rushdie. It was published in 1988 and was viewed as blasphemy, leading to a fatwa against Rushdie by the Supreme Leader of Iran, resulting in several assassination attempts.
When: Sunday, September 13 @ 12PM – 1:30PM

GLO Youth to the Zoo

What:This is a free event for youth, and discounted tickets will be available for family members/guardians who wish to tag along. Permission slips are REQUIRED to attend. GLO must receive your signed permission slip by 9/11.
