Operations Coordinator

Basic Information:

  • Reports to: Executive Director
  • Status: Full-time, In person
  • Salary: $16/hour

*Due to the nature of this position, most of the work cannot be completed virtually.

Job Summary:

The GLO Center is seeking an Operations Coordinator to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of The GLO Center by managing administrative and operational tasks. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for visitors, supporting organizational activities, and maintaining the community center. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and experienced working with the LGBTQ+ community.

This position will be instrumental in staffing the Center, conducting outreach at community events, and supporting our events and fundraisers, including Ozarks Pridefest. As such, occasional weekend and evening hours are required. This position will work closely with the Executive Director, Programming Coordinator, and the Board Committee Chairs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of The GLO Center, including staffing & maintaining the center, answering the phone, and handling client inquiries.
  • Ensure the office is clean, welcoming, and prepared for visitors, programs, and events.
  • Maintain GLO’s donor database and assist in donor appreciation.
  • Coordinate with local government agencies for semi-annual inspections and compliance.
  • Maintain the center’s calendar, schedule meetings, and manage event bookings.
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and organizing digital and physical records.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
  • Work with the Programming Coordinator to recruit, train, and schedule volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • Commitment to GLO’s mission statement, code of conduct, and anti-racism
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, socio-economic statuses, immigration statuses, and gender expression
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize assigned duties
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work within a team-based environment
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed

Women & Non-Binary Support Group

What: Allows women and woman-aligned folks to come together and build community with each other. Queer women and nonbinary people, whether they are cis, trans, gender nonconforming, or other gender identities to socialize and engage in peer support.

Winter Morning: Art Exhibition

What: Join us at The GLO Center’s Winter Art Exhibition to see local featured LGBTQIA+ artists – and most art will be for sale! Entry is free – wine, nonalcoholic beverages, and charcuterie will be provided while you browse the gallery collection!
When: Saturday, December 14, 2 PM – 5 PM

Family Support & Education Meetings

What: Many people don’t know where to turn when a child, family member, friend, or other loved one comes out as LGBTQ+. The GLO Center is partnering with PFLAG Springfield/SWMO to help you better understand, support, and celebrate your loved one.
