Rainbow Kids

LGBTQIA+ Youth ages 5-11

Rainbow Kids is GLO's youth outreach program for LGBTQIA+ kids aged 5-11 (accompanied by a grownup). A variety of weekend events are held throughout the year both at the GLO Center and off-site, to provide kids a chance to get to know each other and have fun together.

Collins Chetwin, GLO's Youth Coordinator, oversees the Rainbow Kids program.

Winter Landscapes: Art Class

What: The December class focuses on winter landscapes. Parents and guardians are invited to attend with their children, making it a perfect family bonding activity!
Who:
LGBTQ+ families and ally families with kids aged 0-5. 
When: Monday,
December 9, 5 PM – 6:30 PM

 
Where: The GLO Center

Women & Non-Binary Support Group

What: Allows women and woman-aligned folks to come together and build community with each other. Queer women and nonbinary people, whether they are cis, trans, gender nonconforming, or other gender identities to socialize and engage in peer support. 
When:

Winter Morning: Art Exhibition

What: Join us at The GLO Center’s Winter Art Exhibition to see local featured LGBTQIA+ artists – and most art will be for sale! Entry is free – wine, nonalcoholic beverages, and charcuterie will be provided while you browse the gallery collection!
When: Saturday, December 14, 2 PM – 5 PM

Family Support & Education Meetings

What: Many people don’t know where to turn when a child, family member, friend, or other loved one comes out as LGBTQ+. The GLO Center is partnering with PFLAG Springfield/SWMO to help you better understand, support, and celebrate your loved one.
