LGBTQIA+ Volunteer Opportunities

Help the GLO Center provide support to the LGBTQIA+ community! We are always looking for allies to help out with our events and otherwise. Examples of volunteer opportunities at GLO include:

Fall Themed Art Class

What: These art classes aim to build social connections among LGBTQ+ families and provide a creative outlet for K-8 children. RSVP: email collins@glocenter.org When: Monday, October 7, 5 PM – 6:30 PM Where: The GLO Center

Starry Night Art Exhibition

What: Come to Opening Night of our new Artist Series to see 7 local featured LGBTQIA+ artists from our community – and most art will be for sale! Entry is free – wine, nonalcoholic beverages, and charcuterie will be provided while you browse the gallery collection! When: Saturday, October 12, 2 PM – 5 PM Where: The GLO Center

8 Week - Youth Therapeutic Support Group

What: The GLO Center is partnering with Beyond Healing to provide a safe, open space for adolescents to explore their identities, find community, and develop healthy coping skills. Who:  For LGBTQIA+ teens ages 14-18.  When: Every Friday 6-7 PM, September 27 – November 15. Where: The GLO Center

Family Support and Education Meetings

What: The GLO Center is partnering with PFLAG Springfield/SWMO to help you better understand, support, and celebrate your child or loved one. Topic: Pronouns 101: Everything you need to know but are too afraid to ask. When: Tuesday, October 15, 5 PM – 7 PM Where: The Third Place – 416 W Commercial St.
