The GLO Market supports local queer-owned businesses and resources. Started in 2023, GLO Markets aim to showcase local talent where patrons can purchase from over 20+ LGBTQIA+ artists, resources, and entrepreneurs.

The GLO Market is from 12 PM – 4 PM on select Saturdays throughout the year at The GLO Center. Check out the confirmed dates!

SNAP & Medicaid Assistance

What:Tonya Claiborne, a community volunteer and activist, will be in the center every Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Tonya comes with years of previous experience in community support and client care to assist individuals wanting mutual support with navigating the applications for SNAP and MoHealthNet (Medicaid). 
When: Every Friday starting September 11 @ 10AM – 4PM
Where: The GLO Center – 518 E Commercial St, Springfield, MO

Banned Book Club

What: For September, we will be discussing “The Satanic Verses” by Salman Rushdie. It was published in 1988 and was viewed as blasphemy, leading to a fatwa against Rushdie by the Supreme Leader of Iran, resulting in several assassination attempts.
When: Sunday, September 13 @ 12PM – 1:30PM

GLO Youth to the Zoo

What:This is a free event for youth, and discounted tickets will be available for family members/guardians who wish to tag along. Permission slips are REQUIRED to attend. GLO must receive your signed permission slip by 9/11. 
When: Sunday, September 13 @ 1PM – 3PM
