Help the GLO Center provide support to the LGBTQIA+ community! We are always looking for allies to help out with our events and otherwise. Examples of volunteer opportunities at GLO include:

October Banned Book Club Meeting

What: Join GLO in our monthly book club, where we will be reading a series of books that have been or could be banned, followed by a discussion on the books, novels, and writings. Book – The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
When: Sunday, October 1, 1pm – 2:30pm (Every first Sunday)
Where: The GLO Center

Queer Film Series: "A Nightmare on Elm Street 2"

What: A special screening of “A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge” at Alamo Drafthouse! This event is a part of our Queer Film Series, an initiative by The GLO Center and Alamo Drafthouse to celebrate and discuss important pieces in queer cinema.
When: Tuesday, October 24, 7pm

Pride in the Park: An LGBTQIA+ History Celebration

What: A celebration for LGBTQIA+ History Month in October. We’re excited to bring you a brand-new event to commemorate our community’s history and achievements!
When: Saturday, October 28, 11am – 3pm
Where: Phelps Grove Park

Rainbow Kids - Trunk or Treat

What: Wear your costumes and get candy! This event is for LGBTQ+ kiddos aged 5-11, accompanied by a grownup. Friends ages 5-11 and siblings of any age are also welcome.  
When: Saturday, October 28, 4pm – 6pm
Where: The GLO Center Parking Lot
