Join GLO at our Banned Book Club where we read and discuss books that have been or could be banned. We meet at The GLO Center every first Sunday of the month from 6 – 7:30 p.m.
This is a SAFE SPACE and is open to allies and open-minded individuals. The GLO Center works hard to provide a safe environment for its community. All who are willing to listen and add to the atmosphere in a safe and open manner are welcome!
What: The GLO Center’s Banned Book Club is reading “Witchcraft for Wayward Girls” by Grady Hendrix for its Jan.4 meeting. The author of “How to Sell a Haunted House” and “The Final Girl Support Group” delivers another completely original novel, this time about pregnant teenagers in 1970 who are sent to a home for unwed mothers. There, they discover witchcraft through a forbidden book, gaining power that comes with a bloody price in this Southern Gothic horror. When: Sunday, January 4th, 12 PM – 1:30 PM Where: The GLO Center (Note to December attendees: the original January book selection had to be changed due to concerns about the author.)
